Baseball. Yes, Bleacherqueen stands for exactly what it sounds like. I have crowned myself "Queen of the Bleachers." What right, you ask, do I have to such a lofty title? Years of self-inflicted bleacher butt! Upon falling in love with my husband , I quickly realized that I must also fall in love with a game I barely knew if I wanted to have a happy marriage. 18 years and three kids later, two of which who thankfully play the beloved game, and I have to say that I really do enjoy America's Pastime. I'm no expert and I have, on occasion, actually been so bold to ask, "is he throwing a no hitter?!", but I have learned enough to reconize that I am blessed to have two boys who play the game at a level that could take them far. My oldest, a senior, is a pitcher and hit 88 tonight!!!! My 13 year old is a catcher who plays the game with all his heart and comes home black and blue, but knowing he left it all on the field. He almost got a triple play on Sunday (1-2, 2-3, 3-2 E3). With college on the horizon for one and high school for the other, I find myself thanking the "Gods of Baseball" that they have been able to play this long. Not to be left out, my daughter is equally as talented however her venue of choice is that of an artist's studio. She is the creative genius of the family and, combined with excellent grades, I cannot wait to see which of the many paths she will decide to go down.
When our kids are young and just learning to walk or crawl we think that nothing in life can be more exciting, but I have to say that I feel like I am standing at the precipice of their futures and I find it intoxicating!
